A stunning and brave African-American, Elon Musk, has decided “Twitter” was not the name that fit his brand identity, and transitioned his company to be called “X”. But millions of racist and transphobic haters refuse to see his company as it wishes to be seen.
I think it’s time this harmful trend was unpackaged. Like calling Istanbul “Constantinople”, Dunkin’ “Dunkin’ Donuts”, or Meta “Facebook” is not only inaccurate, but unconscionable in the current year.
Transphobic hate crimes are on the rise, and the onus is on you for normalizing it. It’s not hard to be an ally. Get with the program.
Transgender people are stunning and brave, and make up 60 percent of my official discord. If you can’t respect that, you’re a piece of human garbage.
